Milawa Gourmet Region – Australia’s first gourmet region was conceived in 1994 with each member providing a service to visitors and proudly displaying the gourmet region’s logo.
The region is centered around the townships of Oxley, Milawa, Markwood and Whorouly and is home to numerous fresh and processed food producers plus a number of Victoria’s leading wineries.
The Milawa Gourmet Region is home to the makers of fine food, wine and craft offerings, from mustards and condiments, free range chicken, fresh berries in season, jams and preserves, olive oil and preserved olives, ceramic art, fine woven fabric, photographic art, honey, lavender products, plant nurseries, fine furniture made from Australian timbers and more.
Four times a year Milawa Gourmet members hold a “Producers Market” at the Crossroads Miilawa featuring local gourmet produce.
There are numerous options for accommodation, including classy B&Bs, motels, a caravan park, camping, and a five star hotel, as well as tourism operators who can tailor an itinery to suit, or provide bicycle hire and pick-ups/drop-offs.
